Whether you live in Nashville or you’re visiting, there are so many places to eat while you’re here. We have hot chicken, soul food, bbq, and americana just to name a few. There are so many that you can feel overwhelmed when trying to make a decision! We’ve rounded up our top 10 favorite places to eat in Nashville so maybe a little of that decision making can be left to us!
Midtown Location: 112 9th Ave S. Nashville, TN. 37207
West Nashville Location: 5209 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN. 37209
Melrose Location: 2222 8th Ave. S. Nashville, TN. 37203
Nashville is known for its hot chicken. I personally do not like things spicy so I always get them plain but everyone that I have taken there has loved it! Get there early because the line usually goes out the door! They have many different flavors in case “Shut the cluck up” isn’t your thing.
Broadway Location: 416 Broadway Ave. Nashville, TN. 37203
Trinity Lane Location: 334 Trinity Ln. Nashville, TN. 37207
Charlotte Ave Location: 1601 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN. 37203
Jack’s Bar-B-Que isn’t likely to ever be found outside of Downtown Nashville. The owner wants his restaurants kept local and I’m sure that will happen even when the business passes to his son. Everything is made fresh daily and they have some of the best meat in the city! They have a wide range of sauces so you can find your favorite as well as mix and match. Also, if you are downtown it’s the perfect before or after drink spot!
The Loveless Cafe has been around for 68 years and I don’t think their decoration has changed much since then. Come to think of it, I don’t think their menu has changed much either! So it’s definitely a spot to visit and eat if you’re wanting to step back in time a little bit while you’re in Nashville! They’re known for their biscuits which have been appropriately dubbed Nashville’s Biscuit since 1951.
Original Location: 1235 6th Ave. N. Nashville, TN. 37208
Monell’s at the Manor: 1400 Murfreesboro Pk. Nashville, TN. 37217
Monell’s Cafe: 2826 Bransford Ave. Nashville, TN. 37122
Monell’s is a must if you’re visiting Nashville! They have 3 locations, and each have their own atmosphere. They’re considered a “meat and three” as we call it in the South. Everything is served family style and you just grab a seat at any table and pass everything to the left! Their motto is “Enter as strangers, leave as friends”.
The Pharmacy is one of the best places to grab a burger and some beer in Nashville. As a warning though, their lines are usually really long and you should expect to be waiting around for a while. It is so worth the wait! If you can, go on a weeknight when it will be a little less crowded. Also, if you have the NoWait app (which is moving all it services over to Yelp starting February 2019), you can see how long the wait is and even get in line before you get there!
Arnold’s Country Kitchen is the best “meat and three” that you can have for lunch! Meat and three’s are really popular in the south but as far as Nashville goes, Arnold’s is the spot. They’re only open to eat Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 2:45 pm. All of their ingredients are locally sourced which is a plus for me!
This location is the sequel to their original location in Charlotte, NC. While I haven’t actually been here yet, my friends have raved about how good it is!! Their menu is completely seasonal so you never know what you’ll see when you go. You can find their menu here.
The Farm House isn’t just a kitschy name for a southern restaurant. Chef Trey Cioccia makes his menus seasonal and limits his ingredients to locally sourced meats, vegetables, and fruits. His take on most of his menu items are borderline if not full-blown genius. It’s definitely an experience that you want to try out when you’re here!
I had Puckett’s for the first time when we went to the Chattanooga Aquarium and ever since then, I’ve been hooked! The atmosphere is laid back and they have a huge stage for live entertainment. The food is some of the best I’ve had when it comes to BBQ!
