When we think of day trips, trains don’t exactly come to mind anymore. I think that’s a shame and train trips should make a comeback. There is no better way to see the sights and let someone else worry about the driving. Here are 7 awesome train trips that leave from Nashville!

 

Del Monaco Winery Trip

This trip sells out super fast! I recommend adding them on social media for when they announce dates and times for their upcoming trips! Tennessee Central Railway Museum has partnered with Muddy Roots Music and DelMonaco Winery to bring you this 1950’s themed experience to DelMonaco Winery in Baxter, TN. Vintage dress is encouraged but not required! Each ticket includes wine tasting on board, winery tours, winery activities, and live music! You also have the option to purchase ‘wine and lunch’ while you’re on board the train. The wine and lunch includes a souvenir wine glass! There are also souvenirs, snacks and drinks available for purchase while you’re on the train too!  

 

Day Out with Thomas

If you’re looking for a something to do with your kiddos, this is the option for you! This runs from September 1-9, 2018 and the tickets are $20. It includes a trip to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway. You will meet Sir Topham Hat at Thomas & Friends Imagination Station and there will be Thomas-themed activities including stamps, hands-on arts and crafts, and a Thomas storytelling and video viewing area.  The many activities will also include a petting zoo, inflatable bouncy castles, magicians, live interactive entertainment, model railroads, mini-golf, and a rubber tired train. The activities on site at Day Out With Thomas are for you and your children to enjoy for however long you would like!
