CMA Fest is almost upon us, and there’s nothing quite like it. It hosts 11 stages in downtown Nashville featuring 350+ artists, 1,100 musicians and 167 hours of music! All daytime outdoor stages are FREE to the public! CMA Fest is just as awesome as you think it’s going to be, but just like with any other music festival there are definitely some survival tips to follow. Here are some essentials that will help you in surviving the Fest in one piece.
CMA Fest Essentials
Camera (if you’re not just wanting to use your phone)
Portable Charger (don’t forget your charging cables)
Advil or Tylenol

Surviving CMA Fest
I know awesome outfits are a must, but make sure that your shoes are comfortable. You’re going to be on your feet all day. You don’t want to have blisters the size of Texas. If you do start to feel your shoes rubbing though…(that’s what the band-aids are for)
Stay hydrated and by hydrated we mean water. I know this seems silly but it’s a big deal. Not staying hydrated can cause migraines and fatigue and that is the last thing you want when you’ve paid good money for these tickets! I know you’re probably going to be having drinks and having fun but definitely have a water bottle on hand and fill it up at every opportunity (my rule is 1 alcoholic beverage to 1 glass of water).
Make sure you download the CMA Fest app. It lets you customize your own schedule based on your favorite artists. It will also set reminders that will notify you before an artist goes onto one if the festival’s official stages. Artists have also been known to host spontaneous pop-up shows. With the app, you can choose to receive alerts about pop-up performances on your phone.
New in 2018, all official CMA Fest locations are adopting Nissan Stadium’s clear bag policy. If you are a four-day pass holder, you will receive a FREE CMA Fest-branded clear bag! (To pick up your free clear bag, visit Music City Center, Level 2 starting Wednesday, June 6 at 9:30 AM and show your four-day pass. One free bag per four-day pass.) Read up on what you can bring to outdoor shows — binoculars, ponchos, and small cameras — and what you can’t — aerosol sunscreen, alcohol, and umbrellas, etc.
Since umbrellas are not allowed at any CMA stage, a poncho is a must! You never know when rain might happen (last CMA fest) and will be happy that you have it in case.
Make sure you check out the official CMA fest website to get the lowdown on the stages, schedule, parking info, and so much more! Hope you have an awesome time!
