I’ve actually downloaded and tested these apps and they have definitely helped me as far as keeping my self care routine on point!
I’ve been using calm for about a year now and I love it. Most of the content on this app does require a subscription, but they do have free videos everyday that you can listen to. My favorite are the ones to go to sleep to!
Aloe Bud is an all-in-one, self-care pocket companion. It gently brings awareness to self-care activities, using encouraging push notifications, rather than guilt or shame. This app is the greatest. There are no unwanted notifications on your phone. It’s just there when you need it!
A 16 year old developed this app and it has games and exercises on it that can help you through a panic attack. This comes in super handy when you’re in the middle of a panic attack and can’t access any of your normal resources.
I used to have Lumosity on my phone and I played it all the time. It kept my brain sharp and I loved doing all the activities. They do have some free games now, but most of the information is now blocked behind a subscription.
I absolutely love headspace. Headspace is an app that helps you learn how to meditate. The best thing is that the lessons are only 10 minutes a day!
Grateful is an app that lets you write down or save pictures of all the times you’ve felt grateful throughout the day and helps change your mindset for the better. It’s also great to have to look back on things when you’re not having the greatest of days.
I’m a big believer in acupuncture and acupressure. This app gives you all the pressure points on your body that you can apply pressure to for a number of ailments. It’s great to have, and I keep it around on my phone because I’m prone to migraines and don’t always have access to my medicine that helps me out.
Start Stretching is an app that helps you learn how to stretch even when you don’t know where to begin. Stretching can help you out if you sit at a desk all day or even if you’re stressed out and need a release!
Happify is an app that has science based games and activities that help you overcome your worries, stresses, and anxiety. It’s a really cool app that I keep around just in case I need it!
Breathing Zone is an app that helps you through 5 minute breathing exercises. It’s doctor approved and you can really see the benefits of a deep breathing exercise almost immediately!!
Fooducate will help you out on your diet/fitness journey. It actually scans food and determines its healthiness depending on the ingredients. It will help you learn how to choose healthier alternatives when at the grocery store or going out to eat!
TrailLink provides you with maps of bike and running/walking trails around you. This helps when you need some fresh air and exercise which is very important in your self-care routine!
Yoga is a great tool to have in your self care routine! Sadie’s Ultimate Yoga is the best app to have in your pocket. It has everything from beginners yoga to advanced poses. The founder, Sadie Nardini, is one of the most respected yoga instructors in the business, so you can rest assured that you’re in the right hands!!
I use sleep cycle on the daily! You just place your phone on your nightstand or face down on the edge of your bed and it tracks your sleeping cycles. You also tell it what time you want to wake up and it gives you a 30 minute window before the time you want to wake up and it’ll gradually wake you up when you’re in your lightest form of sleep.
